employee login help

  What is my Employee ID?
Each employee is assigned an 8-digit number, which is identified as their Employee ID (EMPLID).

This is not your Social Security Number.

What if I do not know my Employee ID?
Your employee ID number is printed on the top-middle section of your pay stub, just under your name. Your supervisor or department payroll reporter can also tell you your employee ID number.

What if I do not know my PIN?
If you have never changed your PIN, then see "What is my default PIN?" below.

I know my employee ID and PIN number, but I can't get into the system. I get a message that says "Permission Denied." You must be a current employee to use this system. What do I do?
If you are a faculty member and it is the start of a new term, check with your department to ensure that a new PAN form has been completed. If you are a staff member, check with your department to ensure that a new PAN form has been completed. If the form has been completed, make sure there are no special exceptions such as being in phased retirement, being a contractor, or being an outside company working at the University.

  What is my KRONOS PIN?
PIN is an acronym which stands for "Personal Identification Number." Your default (initial) KRONOS PIN is "changeme." After logging into the KRONOS system for the first time you will be prompted to change your PIN

Note: You should never share your PIN with anyone!

  What is my default PIN?
Your default (initial) PIN is based on your birthdate, the exact number depends on when your records were created in the PeopleSoft system at the University of Utah. For some it is a 4-digit number that reflects your birth month & day, for others it will be a 6-digit number that reflects your birth month, day, and year. Therefore, the best thing to do is try one or both of the following:
either MMDD or MMDDYY

EXAMPLES:
If your birthdate was December 7, 1941
then your default PIN will be either 1207 or 120741.
If your birthdate was April 1, 1957
then your default PIN will be either 0401 or 040157.
If your birthdate was July 20, 1969
then your default PIN will be either 0720 or 072069.
